HARWICH and Dovercourt Golf Club staged their club championship, held over 36 holes.
Nick Rate held the lead after the first 18 holes with a gross score of 72.
Eric Bushell was three shots behind in second and Colin Wallace a further shot behind in third.
In category three and four, Steve Lyons was leading with a gross 82.
After lunch the second round got underway in blistering heat.
Scoring was very good over the first nine holes and it was difficult to see who would be the winner.
However, it was Bushell who came in with score of 72, making a gross score of 147, to secure victory and he was crowned club champion for 2018 by club captain Keith Morris.
In second place was John Oakley, with a score of 151, on countback from Rate.
In the category three and four championship, it was Lyons who won the silver salver with a gross score of 166.
Jamie King won the Paul Partridge Trophy for the best nett score over 36 holes with a nett score of 137.
