JUNIOR Ogedi-Uzokwe has signed a new one-year contract extension with Colchester United.
The 25-year-old striker will remain at the JobServe Community Stadium until at least the summer of 2020, after the U's activated a year's option in his contract for him to stay put.
Ogedi-Uzokwe, who was due to see his previous deal at Colchester expire this summer, is currently on loan at Derry City.
The SSE Airtricity League side have now extended the former Maldon and Tiptree forward's loan with them and he will remain there now until November 19.
Ogedi-Uzokwe, who joined Derry in February initially on a six-month loan, will return to Colchester at the end of the Irish season.
He had previously enjoyed a six-month loan spell with National League side Bromley last season, where he scored six goals in 25 appearances.
Ogedi-Uzokwe has found his opportunities hard to come by since arriving at the club on an 18-month deal from the Jammers in January, 2018.
Colchester are still waiting to hear answers from several other players, after offering them new deals.
Dillon Barnes, Tom Eastman, Sam Saunders, Diaz Wright and Rene Gilmartin are all due to see their existing contracts expire, this summer.
Last season's top scorer Sammie Szmodics, who has been strongly linked with a move to Championship side Bristol City, is also due to see his current deal run out.
