A LATE goal condemned BRAINTREE TOWN to a second successive defeat in National League South, after they were beaten 1-0 at Chippenham Town.

Kieran Parselle's header in the 84th minute saw Iron slip to a narrow loss, ahead of their FA Cup third qualifying round tie against MALDON AND TIPTREE, next Tuesday night.

Defender Ollie Kensdale, who joined Braintree on loan from Colchester United, made his debut for George Borg's side in the narrow defeat.

HEYBRIDGE SWIFTS were beaten 1-0 at Soham Town Rangers, while WITHAM TOWN lost 2-0 at home to Great Wakering Rovers.

In the Thurlow Nunn League premier division, STANWAY ROVERS thrashed Godmanchester Rovers 5-1, thanks to goals from Dan Gilchrist, Craig Hughes, Tom Lewis, Max Sherlock and Tom Holdstock.

In first division south, WIVENHOE TOWN enjoyed a cracking 5-1 triumph at Brimsdown, with Karl Swanborough bagging a hat-trick and Dean Merrett and Tim Dennis also netting.

HARWICH AND PARKESTON lost 3-1 at Newham Athletic.

In the FA Vase, LITTLE OAKLEY lost 6-5 on penalties at May and Baker after their tie had finished 2-2.
