COLCHESTER United are set to rack up even more miles on the road in League Two, this season.
Hayden Mullins' side are set to travel nearly 9,000 miles in total, in the forthcoming campaign.
With the make up of League Two for the 2021-22 season confirmed following Hartlepool United's penalty shoot-out win over Torquay United in the National League play-off final on Sunday, the U's now know exactly who they will be playing.
Mullins' new-look team face plenty of hours on the road, with the U's set to travel a total of 8,856 miles to and from away games.
That is up 66 miles from the 8,790 miles Colchester travelled for their away games, in the 2020-21 season.
It is the equivalent of approximately five round trips from John O'Groats and Land's End.
Colchester once again face two away fixtures with a 600-mile or more round trip, against Barrow and Carlisle United.
They also have six round trips of 500 miles or more and 12 of 400 miles or more, this season.
Colchester's longest away journey is once again to Barrow, where they will travel nearly 650 miles in total.
Their shortest journey will see the U's heading to Hertfordshire to play Stevenage, a round trip of 118 miles.
The fixture list for the 2021-22 League Two season will be released on Thursday, ahead of the big kick-off, on August 7.
Hartlepool United and Sutton United have been promoted to League Two from the National League.
They are joined in the fourth tier by John McGreal's Swindon Town, Rochdale, Bristol Rovers and Northampton Town, who have all come down from League One.
