FOUR of Colchester United's summer signings are set for an early reunion with Ipswich Town.
Skipper Luke Chambers, Cole Skuse, Freddie Sears and Alan Judge, who all signed for the U's from Portman Road this month, could all be set to face Town in the Papa John's Trophy.
The U's are in Southern Group A of the competition with Ipswich and another League One outfit, Gillingham, which could see former Colchester favourite Ryan Jackson make a return to the JobServe Community Stadium.
Colchester, Ipswich and Gillingham will face the under-21 side of either Arsenal, Aston Villa,
Brighton and Hove Albion, Chelsea, Crystal Palace, Southampton, Tottenham Hotspur or West Ham United.
The draw for under-21 teams to join the competition takes place tomorrow afternoon at 4.30pm and will be shown live on Sky Sports.
Colchester face Ipswich and Gillingham in the same group in the 2019-20 season.
Ryan Clampin's wonder strike gave them a 1-0 victory over Ipswich at the JobServe Community Stadium.
And Colchester ran out 3-2 winners over Gillingham at Priestfield in the same competition that season, thanks to two goals from Paris Cowan-Hall and one from Theo Robinson.
Meanwhile, Colchester will be ball number 11 for tomorrow's Carabao Cup first-round draw, which takes place at 3.40pm and is live on Sky Sports.
