FORECASTERS are predicting a slightly wet weekend for Colchester this weekend – but with the threat of showers dying down just in time for the Euro 2020 final on Sunday.
Sadly, however, there's not set to be a heatwave for when England take on Italy at Wembley on Sunday evening.
Temperatures aren’t expected to reach higher than 20c in the town this weekend, and the Met Office’s current forecasters suggest there will only be a few hours of sunshine.
Football fans across the town will be gearing up for the Euros final on Sunday, with many hoping to watch the match on big screens in pub gardens.
Sadly, you won't be able to watch on the big screen in Castle Park, however, there we're sure thousands of residents will be celebrating beforehand in their gardens.

The forecast suggests it should be dry for most of the match, but there is a chance of some rain later very late on Sunday – luckily after the game will be over.
Here’s the latest forecast for Colchester over the weekend:
Saturday AM
It will be a dry start to the weekend, with showers holding off until about 11am. Heavier and longer spells of rain are expected between 11am heading into the afternoon, with temperatures not climbing above 17c.
Saturday PM
The wet weather will continue from midday until the early evening.
There is the prospect of some late evening sunshine around 8pm or 9pm, with a top temperature of 17c forecast.

However, unlike some other parts of Essex, Colchester is set to escape most of the wet weather which could arrive after kick off time.
