WHAT a splendid juxtaposition we had in Tuesday’s Gazette.
On Page 7, we saw a photograph of 13-year-old Floyd Laidler having his second Covid jab, because he wanted to protect his family and friends.
Meanwhile, on the back page, the implication from Hayden Mullins, the Colchester United boss, is that not all of his players have been vaccinated because it “is up to the lads”.
As a consequence, some of their games are being called off.
Can I suggest to Mr Mullins, and indeed to the U’s owner, Robbie Cowling, that if he wants the continued support of the people in this area, he makes sure all of the Colchester United players are properly jabbed?

It is my understanding that you’ll need a vaccination passport of some description to attend their matches in future.
Well, you can count me out until I know that the players have all been fully vaccinated as well.
Isn’t it about time these players showed the same maturity as 13-year-old Floyd?
