Colchester Stars hosted Ipswich Eagles for the latest round of senior and junior league matches.
Club returnee Mick Bolger had an excellent match after a five-year absence, winning two races and taking three second places to earn 17 points and two bonus points.
New recruit Andy Gorham was a revelation.
In his first match after only two training sessions, Gorham was uncatchable, dropping only one point for a 23-point haul.
Connor Wright also performed well, with four race wins, 21 points and one bonus.
Oscar Clayson and Luke Hyam's team rode with their partners, ensuring the heat wins.
Young Patrick Kruger, standing in as reserve, was excluded in race three for corner cutting but charged through in his other races with a second and third-place finish in his remaining heats.
Stars ran out victors 89-68.
