Ali Carter beat Hong Kong's Marco Fu in the final of the Huangshan Cup in Hefei, China to secure only the second title of his 12-year professional career.
Colchester-born Carter, the runner-up in the 888.com World Championship earlier this month, had earlier defeated China's number one Ding Junhui 5-3 in the semi-finals and beat Fu by the same score to capture the title.
The 28-year-old from Tiptree was a last minute call-up for the invitation tournament following the late withdrawal of Ronnie O'Sullivan - the man who beat him in the World Championship final.
Carter held his nerve to win the last two frames and pick up his first title since he won the qualifying event for the 2000 Wembley Masters.
