Colchester's Sam Pilgrim cycled his way to the Nissan QASHQAI Challenge final title with a stunning demonstration of freeriding.
The 17-year-old from Prettygate, who was the youngest rider in the contest, wowed the judges at the event at London's Tate Modern.
His mother, Sam Stanmore, 40, said: "He was thrilled.
"This was a really important competition for him, especially being in London.
"He was over the moon.
"He did two excellent runs with tricks at each jump so he really pulled it out of the bag."
