Colchester Swimming Club held its Annual Open Meet.
It was an exciting and well supported event with youngsters from all over the region swimming in a strongly contested competition.
The top six swimmers receive awards in each age group in every event. Colchester had a very successful day, winning overall but the club rule is that the home team do not receive the award, the top visiting club takes it.
The main results were: Top Visiting Club - Rochford - received the Reg Baines Cup. 2nd - Harwich. 3rd - Team Ipswich.
Top Boy - Alexander Vipond (Colchester), Thomas Rootsey (Colchester). The boys shared the same number of points (27 out of a max of 30). The club rule is that the youngest takes the trophy, so 12-year-old Vipond received the cup.
Top Girl - Courtney Sanders (Chelmsford). 2nd - Faye Brumby (Rochford). 3rd - Phillipa Davenall (Colchester).
Top Girls' Team - Bishops Stortford. 2nd joint - Brentwood, Rochford.
