He may have lost his unbeaten record after seven-and-a-half years and 165 sets, but Steve Kerns was still the number one player in this year's Braintree Table Tennis League.
Kerns lost only once, to Peter Hayden in October, and finishes top of the league's individual averages for the tenth time.
Hayden, showing slightly more consistency in league matches this season, moves up to second with last year's leading player Kevin Gowlett third.
Newly-crowned men's singles champion Paul Davison also lost only once - to Gary Young - but only played in five matches so does not qualify for the list.
In divisions two and three the leading team's dominance is illustrated by having all four players in the averages, four in the top seven for Liberal in division two and four out of six for Pillar House in division three.
Panfield's team of two halves is apparent in division four. Their players dominate the averages - three of the top four - despite finishing second in the league to Black Notley H.
