Clacton's lack of superstars' works to their advantage, according to buoyant Seasiders manager Gary Kirk.
The Tendring side are flying high in third spot in the East Anglian Premier League, after back-to-back wins against Bury St Edmunds and Great Witchingham last Saturday.
Now they switch their attention to another away game tomorrow, when they visit Horsford.
And for team boss Kirk, the club's lack of big-name talent has been a huge factor in their early-season success.
He told the Gazette: "Our results so far have certainly shown everyone just how close the team are.
"They train hard together and are developing into a good unit.
"We don't really have any superstars. But we have good players who are prepared to put the time in - both on and off the field - to ensure success."
Instead of fielding high-profile players, Clacton are relying on their tried and trusted youth policy to create a team capable of competing in the EAPL.
They nurture them in the second and third teams first and Kirk said: "It shows our wish to improve and develop.
"We have a clear policy to develop the club, its facilities, its youth cricketers and, of course, profile to ensure we offer the best cricket for the community.
"Clacton's reputation has been tarnished over recent years but our determination is to irradicate the negatives - in doing so attracting new players, members and budding young cricketers."
