COLCHESTER United's under-18s have made progress in this season's FA Youth Cup, writes BRIAN WALLER.
The U's beat minnows New Salamis in their first-round tie staged at Coles Park in White Hart Lane, the ground of Haringey Borough FC.
They had got to this stage in the competition with qualifying round wins over Romford, Colney Heath and Dereham Town.

As was expected, it was a testing night for the U's and they trailed at the break to a goal by Nathan, following a counter attack by the hosts.
But Colchester fought back superbly to score two brilliantly-taken shots.
First Kennedy Mupomba netted and then Milton Oni scored to clinch a second-round home tie with Maidstone United.
