Fabian Wilnis has admitted he would seriously consider any offers to prolong his playing career.
The former Ipswich Town defender is a free agent, having not been offered a new contract at Portman Road.
He spent the best part of ten years with the club but his final deal expired at the end of last season.
Wilnis is now working towards his coaching badges and has made no secret of his desire to move into that side of the game.
But he still feels he could do a decent job as a player and told the Gazette: "I could definitely carry on for another year or two. I've always prided myself on being very professional and my fitness isn't an issue.
"As things stand I haven't had any official approaches but I've been away on holiday and then more recently working towards my coaching badges up in Stoke.
"We'll have to wait. At the moment I'm only thinking about my coaching and I've got another month to go.
"That's my dream but if any offers come along to carry on playing I'll listen and think about them very seriously."
Wilnis has been granted a testimonial by Ipswich, having made 325 appearances since joining from De Graafschap in January 1999.
The date and opposition have not been confirmed yet.
