Sammy Clingan is the latest name being linked with Ipswich Town.

The 24-year-old Nottingham Forest midfielder is out of contract at the City Ground and also thought to be interesting QPR and Norwich City.

The Northern Ireland international has been offered a new deal but is stalling on signing it while he assesses his options elsewhere.

Another player reportedly in the frame is Dagenham and Redbridge's Scott Griffiths.

The full-back or left-sided midfielder is expected to move to a bigger club after an impressive first season in the Football League.

Elsewhere on the rumour-mill, Danny Webber - who has been made available by Sheffield United - is supposedly interesting Jim Magilton.

The Ipswich boss is desperate to bolster his attacking options but is only rumoured to be interested should he miss out on Manchester City's Emile Mpenza.

One name already familiar with Blues fans is Leicester City's Gareth McAuley.

Magilton has been chasing the Northern Ireland international since January - when he previously had three offers rejected - and the centre-half would be a perfect replacement for retired Blues skipper Jason De Vos.

Magilton is expected to make another move this summer and, according to one tabloid, has already had a fresh £1 million bid turned down by the Foxes.

McAuley is widely tipped to leave the Walkers Stadium after Leicester's relegation to Coca-Cola League One.

Meanwhile, Ipswich have confirmed another date to their pre-season fixture list - except this time cricket will be on the agenda instead of football.

The Blues are playing Ipswich and East Suffolk in a Twenty20 match at Chantry Park on Thursday, July 31 with a provisional start time of 6pm.
