Halstead Road Runners entered three athletes in the Tilty Hilly five-mile road race hosted by Grange Farm and Dunmow Running Club.
Vice-chairman Keith Thorogood described the conditions as excellent, over a challenging course.
Results: Dean Jay - 31 minutes 47 seconds 27th, Wayne Kern - 32m 33s 34th, Keith Thorogood - 41m 24s 107th.
Meanwhile, the Brandon half-marathon was held in very wet and cold conditions.
Mark Armitage was delighted to be the first veteran (over-40) home in a fantastic time of 1h 20m 18s.
He finished third overall.
Results: Mark Armitage - 3rd overall (first vet) 1h 20m 18s, Wayne Kern - 27th overall, 1h 31m 18s, Keith Thorogood - 143rd overall 1h 52m 26s.
