Football-mad girls joined together for the first 4x4 Football Festival, in a joint initiative with local clubs and the Essex FA.
The festival was held at Lawford Junior FC and attended by teams from Brightlingsea, Little Oakley, Clacton, Lawford and Colchester.
Girls, aged from six to 11, enjoyed skills coaching and mini friendly tournaments in a four-a-side fun format.
Kate Everett, Lawford JFC's development officer, said: "Once again, we have proved that girls' football is incredibly popular and everyone really enjoyed a fantastic day of football, supported by local clubs, a team of young volunteers and the Essex County FA."
If you are aged six or above and want to join a team, contact Emma Wake, the girls' and women's football development officer for the Essex FA, on 01245 393076.
