COLCHESTER United have today appointed Ben Garner as their new head coach.
The former Charlton Athletic and Swindon Town boss has taken over from Matt Bloomfield, who left to join Wycombe Wanderers, last week.
U's fans have their say on Garner's appointment as the club's new boss.
Doug
It's a football managerial appointment, could go either way. Let's hope it's the right way.
Annie Howroyd
Good appointment. My family are all Swindon fans and we’re sad to see him leave.
Si
A good appointment if we can rekindle his success at Swindon.
Dave B
Good to see us plump for an external appointment. Initial fear is BG has previously preferred a possession based style, which is great - but not sure we have the personnel to suit. Did a very good with Swindon, so fingers crossed he can find a formular to improve our fortunes
Paul Chisnall
A good side appt but the U's. I only hope we so start playing this front foot football he talks about and we can then stop saying "a team with real potential". And instead deliver on those observations, especially at home.
Boylan
Big name and done well in this league. Credit to Robbie Cowling. Hopefully some exciting times ahead.
Adam
Sensible appointment. Although he hasn't done that great in League 1, achieved playoffs for Swindon in League 2 whilst under financial problems and a transfer embargo. Happy with the deal, from the interview he already sounds like we have made a good choice.
Steve Wood
A good appointment, an experienced head coach.
Brad
Sensible appointment, plays decent football and with some backing in the summer who knows what we can achieve
Anthony
A experienced manager I'll back him as best as I can so I'm happy
Penguins, it's always penguins.
Terrified. Think we just spent a ton of money (salaries etc) on proven players that won't fit his system. More money will be needed. Give him a chance for sure, but not sure he has much of a history beyond one good season and a lot of falling-outs.
Luke Fordham
We shall see
Freddie Emerson
Good appointment. Can’t stop the shine
