COLCHESTER United claimed their first win under Danny and Nicky Cowley when they won 1-0 at Morecambe, on Saturday afternoon.
Arthur Read's superb free-kick proved enough to clinch the U's victory at the Mazuma Stadium, as they claimed their first win since December 22.
Colchester fans have their say on a big win for their side, on the road.

A lot nice one touch play. New boys did good. Ali Smith was outstanding. Love the high press. No annoying passing back and forth across the the six yard line. Just loved the never say die attitude! Up the U’s.

The team gave a performance that had it all. The intensity and commitment was there for all to see. Cracking free kick, pen save and clean sheet. Exciting times ahead.
Just plain old me
A welcome 3 points and a 7 point gap between us and the bottom 2. Huge game next week. come on Colchester

Great to get 3 points and a clean sheet; big month ahead. Great to be looking forward to games now rather than just going out of loyalty! Good time to be a #colu fan

A classic away win. Got lucky on a couple of occasions & lacked a bit of goal threat, but kept the ball well looking comfortable in possession. We bossed the midfield & ultimately deserved the win. Special mention for Ali Smith, excellent debut & huge presence in the middle.
Chris
Nice to see an away win.
Allen Smith
Cowley ball what a result and the extra 10% energy on the press. Smith in midfield is what we’ve missed
Adam
Dominated that game. Great to get 3 points and the new loan signings have been a great addition to this team. Such a beautiful free kick from Read and a great penalty save from Goodman. Buzzing and a long journey home. Onto Forest Green at home
Richard Hartwell
Great debut from Smith, not too shabby from Harbottle either. With a game plan and willingness to fight for the cause, that was a joy to watch. Onwards and upwards
