I THINK I've just about got my breath back from the Forest Green Rovers game.
While it didn't bring the three points that we probably should have been celebrating it felt like a win in all but points, with the way the match panned out and the marked change in the mindset of the team and fans alike.
The first half was a dull affair and going in 2-0 down at home against a poor team through goals of our own making was a tough feeling.
I do think during the break there was an air around the ground that we were on a knife edge and the second 45 would speak volumes on how the rest of our season was likely to go.

Would we come out fighting, backs to the wall or just roll over and capitulate to another heavy defeat?
Danny and Nicky had 15 minutes to prove to all that they were capable of getting into the players, ensuring they put the first 45 minutes to bed and start afresh, to show what we are all about under their leadership.
I, along with everyone else in the ground bar the Forest Green fans was really pleased to see the lads come out with a fire in their bellies and from the off take the game to the visitors, as a home side should.
Three goals in six action-packed minutes turned the game on its head and I've honestly not felt an atmosphere like it in ages, at a home game.
Everyone was in full voice, getting behind the side and you could see what it meant to the players and fans alike to be back on the front foot and playing positive football.
Being 3-2 up with 20 minutes to go, there was only one team who was looking likely to win it but unfortunately, Forest Green equalised and the points were ultimately shared.
Nevertheless, this new-look Col U side gave us everything - entertainment, desire and most importantly something to cheer about, sending us home as happy as if we had got all three points.
With a larger than normal crowd, I do hope that a game like that will encourage people to return again and watch the remainder of the season, as there is something special being built.

Of course, there are a lot of work-on points that need to be ironed out before we can really look forward to the next term's possible promotion charge.
We need to start games quicker, stop conceding preventable goals that are all down to our own mistakes and look to exploit space quicker when it is available.
This will come and we have to remember that it is a very early work in progress and there are positives - the fight back attitude along with the new signings who have fitted in well and hit the ground running.
If we can sign them on a permanent basis in the summer that will be a big plus point, moving forward.
They fit the Cowleys’ style and pattens of play, plus have the potential to only improve, as the team getting more aligned and confident in the new philosophy.
The togetherness is growing around the club; fans are turning up excited to see us play, rather than the past feeling of going though the motions and hoping rather than expecting.

Rome was not built in a day, but the foundations are being laid by Emperor Danny.
We are looking up rather than down and come next season, there will be so much more excitement to come.
Let's all back the lads and see out the remaining games with as many points as possible and then the dreams will, fingers crossed, start becoming reality.
Up the U’s.
