COLCHESTER United lost 2-1 at home to Wrexham, on Saturday afternoon.
Second-half goals from Paul Mullin and Max Cleworth secured Phil Parkinson's side a victory, after John Akinde had given the U's the lead shortly after half-time with his first league goal for a year.
Here are the Gazette player ratings, following a disappointing defeat for Danny Cowley's side in front of nearly 8,500 at the JobServe Community Stadium.
OWEN GOODMAN 6
U’s goalkeeper was beaten by two close-range headers but lacked protection from his defence
JAY MINGI 7
U’s man of the match. Unfortunate not to win an early penalty and looked very composed

Will not look back on Wrexham’s goals with any fondness on his return to the side
ELLIS IANDOLO 6
Had a pretty impressive first half but was replaced soon after Wrexham’s equaliser
ARTHUR READ 7
Was an impressive performer for Colchester in the heart of their midfield
ALISTAIR SMITH 7
Was influential in the first half and came close to scoring but had less of an impact after the break
HARRY ANDERSON 6
Worked hard at wing-back; was a goal threat in the first half but faded a little after that
CAMERON MCGEEHAN 6
Played his part in Akinde’s goal and was also denied by keeper Okonkwo in the first half
TOM HOPPER 6
Worked extremely hard for the cause and put in a huge shift for the team in attack
JOHN AKINDE 7
Produced a clinical finish for his goal and put in a big all-round display before going off
