COLCHESTER United beat Grimsby Town 2-0 on Tuesday night to take a big step towards securing their League Two safety.
A crowd of 4,350 was at the JobServe Community Stadium to see Danny Cowley's side rack up back-to-back league wins for only the second time this season and boost their chances of staying up.
Here are the views of U's supporters, following their team's important victory.

We're hitting some form just at the right time. With ColU, I never feel confident until it's mathematically certain! Good first half from the U's and did well to stifle Grimsby in the second.

Akinde and Mingi are the stand out stars for this match. Sam Hornby also had a good game with a solid clean sheet. We still have moments of craziness and discomposure where we give away the ball and have to defend hard for 10-15 mins. But overall a great night out.

Amazing. Love it. Well done Though, be nice to have a season celebrating play offs or better as opposed to celebrating being a bit less crap than others though.

Sounded like a battle out there! Grimsby got at Colchester throughout game, early goal was key and getting the 2nd after soaking up quite a bit of pressure from Grimsby was icing on the cake, 4pts + GD will help on Saturday! Can’t wait for next home game
Si Collinson
Great result, that should see us over the line. Onwards and upwards for next season.

Good solid around performance tonight. Dominated the 1st half and although Grimsby came at us after the interval, as expected, we defended well and got the 2nd goal to give us breathing space. Glad for Hornby to have a good game and a clean sheet.
Just plain old me
Huge win but that red card was unnecessary. For me put a downer on a great win

Mingi brilliant again, delighted for Big John and Hopper to both get on the scoresheet. Great to keep a clean sheet aswell! We do look more solid with Hornby between the sticks.
Ian
Huge win for us tonight. The team again showed the spirit fight and passion that we have now come to expect. To a man they played as a team, something a few months ago seemed to be beyond us. The change since the Cowleys took over cannot be underestimated!! Up the U’s!

Massive win for the U’s tonight. We’re finally looking like we can not only win games but grind out results too. Onwards and upwards! Up the U’s.

Strange performance but the result is all that matters. Hopper and Akinde held the ball up brilliantly& the back 3 stood up well to the direct attack. Mingi again excellent. Iandolo becoming a key player for us.

Great to see both hopper and akinde on the scoresheet for their hard work. Hornby was excellent in goal again. 1 foot in league 2 next season. UP THE U'S

Great goals but my word we give up possession SO easily surprised the Cowley’s have any hair left! Great result onwards and upwards……

Danny & Nicky Cowley are the best thing to happen to this club in years! Excellent performance, Jay Mingi was on a different level again. So pleased for Hopper, the U’s are staying up!
