COLCHESTER United suffered a frustrating 1-0 defeat to Harrogate Town at the JobServe Community Stadium, on Saturday afternoon.
The U's were dominant but Sam Folarin capitalised on a defensive mix-up to score the visitors' winner, midway through the second half.
Here are the Gazette player ratings, following a frustrating home defeat for Danny Cowley's side.
MATT MACEY 6
U’s goalkeeper is likely to be disappointed with the nature of the Harrogate goal after mix-up
ROB HUNT 6
Will probably not want to see Harrogate’s winning goal again in a hurry. Booked
TOM FLANAGAN 7
U’s captain generally defended well and was unfortunate to finish on the losing side
MANDELA EGBO 7
Showed all of his athleticism and high fitness levels once again in a right-sided berth
ELLIS IANDOLO 7
Was a solid performer on the left side of the Colchester defence despite the disappointing result
ALEX WOODYARD 7
Typically tenacious for the U’s in midfield and made some important tackles and interceptions
TEDDY BISHOP 7
Was very unlucky not to score with a fine free-kick that was brilliantly saved by Belshaw
JACK PAYNE 7
Pulled the strings for Colchester once again with his skill and vision particularly in the first half
TOM HOPPER 7
Was effective in the air and involved in the majority of Colchester’s attacking play
JK GORDON 7
Looked lively and dangerous in a left-sided role and caused the Harrogate defence plenty of problems
SAMSON TOVIDE 7
U’s man of the match. Young striker was relentless all afternoon, denied brilliantly by Belshaw and should have been awarded a penalty
