COLCHESTER United under-18s lost 2-1 at home to Cardiff City in their latest Professional Development League Two match at Florence Park, writes BRIAN WALLER.
After the crushing 6-1 home defeat last season at Maldon to a rampant City side, the U's were looking for a better result in this season's first meeting of the sides.
The visitors led at the interval with a goal by Troy Perrett and secured the win with a second-half goal by Jake Davies.

The U’s goal came from Dwayne Campiono do Vale.
With their FA Youth Cup match at home to Hackney Wick taking place tomorrow night, most of the second-year scholars were rested.
