Tonight sees the first ever game at the Weston Homes Community Stadium and supporters will be flocking to the new stadium to be a part of the match against Athletic Bilbao.
During the course of the season, an extensive travel service will be running to help fans get to watch the U’s in their League One promotion push, but tonight the following facilities will be running: Matchday Rover Service Fans can get on any First Essex bus from within the Colchester Urban area from 6pm onwards for £1, to get them to Bruff Close near Colchester's main train station.
Free Shuttle Bus Service The First Essex/CUSA Shuttle Bus service from Bruff Close will be fully operational. Fans will be able to travel to the stadium for FREE by hopping on this bus. During the season, you will require a match ticket with your Bus In and Bus Out stubs, but tonight, any fan will be able to hop on this service to get to the stadium.
Two FREE shuttle buses will also be running from the Layer Road area of town, one from the Drury Arms and one from the Fat Cat pub. Both will be leaving at 6.45pm and bringing fans to the stadium before becoming part of the general shuttle bus service from Bruff Close.
Using The Club's Main Car Park Fans intending on parking in the stadium car park tonight are asked to purchase their permit by 4pm this afternoon. Permits can be bought in person from the club’s Ticket Office today. The car park becomes operational as a Matchday Car Park from 4pm today and permits will be required to access the site. If you have already purchased a permit, please have it ready to show to a matchday steward upon your arrival at the stadium and, when in the car park, hang it from your rear view mirror.
The Boxted Road Entrance Please note that this entrance is open on a matchday to shuttle buses, taxis and pedestrians only. Taxis will be able to drop off and use the bus turning circle to again leave the site.
Cyclists will be able to secure their bikes in the racks currently located in the North West corner of the stadium site.
Fans being dropped off by family or friends are asked to come down United Way and be dropped off prior to the entrance to the stadium car park.
Parking Exclusion Zone The club will be providing marshals to monitor the surrounding roads around the stadium. Parking will not be permitted in these areas.
