The closure of Mile End Recreation Ground in the middle of last week saw the demise of all Lockton Colchester Sunday League matches planned there but, elsewhere, it was pretty much business as usual.
SC Kelvedon played hosts to Bayern Monkwick in the only game in the premier division and it was the home side who came out on top, winning 5-0 with goals from Rochester (2), Hughes, Barratt and Brown.
In division one, CUSA and Middlewick Rangers shared the points with a 1-1 draw at Shrub End.
Norman got the CUSA goal with Barrie on target for Middlewick.
Oyster Legion and Chappel and Wakes Colne also drew, 2-2 this time over on Mersea.
Reid got both for the Legion, May and Eddings replied for Chappel.
Highwoods Foxash travelled to St Edmunds and won 6-4. Knowles got four and Bell two for Foxash with Hird (2), Cannon and Wilson scoring for the Saints.
FC Straws won the only match in division two beating Northgate Athletic 5-1.
On target for Straws were Clarke (3), Paddock and Nash, while a Sage own goal was the consolation for the ‘gate.
In division three, AFC Lexden beat Ramsey Reserves 3-2 with goals from Cranfield, K and A Buda.
Passmore and Nee scored for Ramsey.
Newtown Rovers came out on top as they beat Feering United 5-3 in division four. Hood (2), Dees, Davies and Gould got the Rovers goals, Vaughan-Williams (2) and Fitzgerald scored for Feering.
Tolleshunt D’Arcy went to Colchester Spartans and won 8-0 thanks to goals from Cutmore (2), Prior (2), Woods, Parkin, Lewis and Howe.
Allstars also got a win, at home to Sportsmans 4-1. Phillips, Carter, Buckley and an own goal gave Allstars the points, while D Harvey consoled the Sportsmen.
In division five, Real BTS Reserves were top scorers as they beat Stone Island 13-0.
The BTS scorers were M Joy (5), Dilliway (4), Panton, Sheffield, Richard and J Troy.
Wivenhoe Old Boys beat Feering Reserves by the odd goal in five; Freeman (2) and D Lawrence got the Old Boys’ goals, Carr and Anders replied for Feering. Athletico Colchester beat Newtown Reserves 4-0.
In division six, Sporting Colchester won 3-0 at home against Athletico Layer; Archer (2) and Flynn got the goals.
Chappel and Wakes Colne Reserves beat Tolleshunt D’Arcy Reserves 2-1. Parfitt got the D’Arcy goal.
In the Fowler Cup, Doverston beat Riverview 3-2. Roberts and an own goal were the Riverview scorers.
Elsewhere, it was County Cup games, in the Sunday Junior Trophy third round Borussia Thorpmund beat FC Byair 5-2 thanks to goals from Gilmore (3), Ribchester and Hudson.
Beale Winter and Burge scored for Byair.
Colne Star beat Elmstead Athletic 4-3 with a Gridley hat-trick and one from O’Hara; Howe, Serheunik and McIlwaine were on target for Elmstead.
