The Weston Homes Community Stadium was still only a pipe dream when Ben May was strutting his stuff on loan for Colchester United.
However, the former Millwall target man is hoping to spearhead the attack for his current club Scunthorpe United, who are the U’s Community Stadium visitors for a Coca-Cola League One encounter tomorrow.
“It will be great to actually play at the new stadium and I’m really looking forward to it,” the 24-year-old current Glanford Park scoring hero told the Gazette.
“When I was at Colchester they were still playing at Layer Road, so it will be great to get another new ground under my belt.”
May enjoyed two spells with the U’s between March 2003 and October 2004, sandwiched between two further loan deals at Brentford before signing permanently for The Iron in January of this year.
“Scunthorpe and Colchester were both in the Coca- Cola Championship then and we are currently on target for a quick return,” said the Gravesend-born goal-getter.
