Colchester United chairman Robbie Cowling has praised the club’s fans for creating the ‘best atmosphere so far’ at the Weston Homes Community Stadium.
Cowling was delighted with the U’s supporters, who got behind their side throughout the club’s goal-less draw with Scunthorpe United.
He told the Gazette: “We’re seeing an improvement and I think the crowd appreciated that last Saturday.
“It was the best atmosphere I’ve experienced at the new stadium so far. It was always a case with moving somewhere new of adapting to the surroundings but now we’re trying to build on it.
“There will be initiatives all of the time to try and get the stadium as full as we can but we want to go and watch a winning team.
“We want to build a true supporter base and to do that, we have to provide entertainment.”
