KIT Symons is ‘very interested’ in becoming Colchester United’s new manager.
And if he is given the job, he wants Joe Dunne to work alongside him.
The 38-year-old former Wales international (pictured) had a brief spell in temporary charge of the U’s last season, taking charge of four matches.
Now the ex-Colchester assistant manager is keen to return to the Weston Homes Community Stadium – as Paul Lambert’s successor.
Symons told the Gazette: “I’m looking to get back into management and I would definitely be interested in it.
“I will be contacting (chairman) Mr Cowling and letting him know I am interested.
“It was a wrench to leave Colchester.
“I want to work at a good club with good people and Colchester ticks all of those boxes.
“My stay there was fairly short but in that time, I developed a real feeling for the club and for the people who work there.”
