Colchester United will continue in their quest to secure compensation for the loss of Paul Lambert to Norwich City – despite the appointment of Aidy Boothroyd as their new manager.
Lambert quit the U’s to take over at Carrow Road last month, after ten months in charge.
Assistant manager Ian Culverhouse and Football Operations Manager Gary Karsa also left the club.
Colchester are still seeking compensation for Lambert’s departure.
However, they have been unable to agree a figure with Norwich and ‘are quite a way apart’, according to chairman Robbie Cowling.
That means that the issue is likely to go to a tribunal Colchester may even seek a points reduction for Norwich, should it be proven that they have broken Football League rules in appointing Lambert.
Cowling said: “That will go on in the background and will take some time.
“But there are opportunities with every problem.
“We have made the situation into something good for us.
“We just have to make sure that we do things right for Colchester United.”
