Forgotten man Medy Elito has signed a new two-year deal with Colchester United.
The 19-year-old midfielder, who fell out of favour under previous U's manager Paul Lambert, has committed his future to the club following the appointment of new boss Aidy Boothroyd.
After a number of months in the wilderness, Elito has been named in the Colchester squad to travel to take on Southampton tomorrow.
Having emerged through the youth team ranks at the U's, Elito burst on to the first-team scene under former boss Geraint Williams in March, 2008.
He came on as a second-half substitute in Colchester's 4-1 defeat at Plymouth, in the Coca-Cola Championship.
He went on to make a number of appearances for the U's that season and scored his first goal for the senior team in Colchester's 4-3 defeat at West Bromwich Albion.
Elito continued to figure under Williams the following season, mainly as a substitute.
However, he found his chances limited under Lambert and made only two further appearances during the Scotsman's reign.
But Elito is now back in the fold and he will be hoping to make a positive impression under Boothroyd, with the under-20 World Cup just around the corner.
