Craig Rocastle is set to be told whether he will be given another chance to impress at Colchester United.

The former Chelsea youngster played as a triallist for the U’s reserves in their 5-1 rout of Grays Athletic in midweek.

The 28-year-old midfielder is looking to make an impact at the Weston Homes Community Stadium, having returned from a recent spell in Greece.

Colchester boss Aidy Boothroyd said he would sit down and talk to Rocastle and tell him whether he will be given another opportunity to shine.

He said: “I have to speak to Craig. A lot of players fall out of the game.

“He went out to Greece and came back and was playing for Dover and I was asked to have a look at him.

“I never turn down an opportunity, particularly when someone falls on hard times and they might be a little hungrier than where they were before.

“He obviously hasn’t got the fitness levels that our lads have but I think he did well and I’ll be sitting down to talk to him.”
