Goalscorer Kevin Lisbie admitted Colchester United's players were left hurting after losing to Millwall.
But he refused to write off the U's chances of promotion from Coca-Cola League One.
Colchester were beaten 2-1 by the Lions at the Weston Homes Community Stadium, a result which dealt a further blow to their play-off hopes.
The defeat leaves them in seventh place, level on points with sixth-placed Huddersfield Town but having played a game more.
Aidy Boothroyd's side have six games left to clinch a play-off spot and striker Lisbie believes it is still achievable.
Lisbie said: “There are a lot of points to play for and we have to keep going.
“The odds are stacked against us but we just have to concentrate on ourselves."
