Colchester United have received an apology from the Referees' Association over Wycombe Wanderers' late equaliser last month.
The U's were held to a draw by the Chairboys, after Gareth Ainsworth used his hand to score a last-gasp equaliser for the visitors, in the 1-1 draw.
Colchester were left livid after the equaliser, which cost them three precious points in their ongoing Coca-Cola League One play-off chase.
However, manager Aidy Boothroyd said he was grateful for the apologetic phone call from the RA.
Boothroyd said: “Dave Morrison from the Referees Association phoned me last week to apologise about the Wycombe goal.
“I think it was great that he did that but it doesn’t give us the two extra points.
“Sometimes that happens; you have to get on with it and I appreciate his call."
