COLCHESTER Phoenix's Fran Williamson achieved the qualifying time for the IPC Swimming World Championship as she won 50 metres backstroke gold at the British International Disability Championships in Sheffield.
Williamson clocked one minute 05.86 seconds, earning her a total of 680 points with her S3 disability class and securing the gold medal, well ahead of Portugal's Simone Fragoso (S5) with 343 points and Samantha Neill (Gates and Whick, S3) with 286.
"That was great," Williamson said.
"I have a new coach and we have been working well together. I am looking forward to getting some more time back in the water in the lead-up to the World Championships."
