Defiant Robbie Cowling has vowed to continue fighting the cause for Colchester United.
The U’s chairman is “massively disappointed” that the club failed clinch a Coca-Cola League One play-off place this season.
But he has pledged to back manager Aidy Boothroyd as much as possible, in the summer transfer window.
And Cowling is more determined than ever to bring success to the Weston Homes Community Stadium.
“Over the last four years, I feel as though I’ve been taking the punches in the boxing ring four times,” Cowling said.
“But I’m ready to step into the ring for a fifth time and take another battering."
“It’s not a bottomless pit of money.
“But I will do my absolute best to back Aidy.
“He’s as disappointed as anyone is."
