Colchester United's game at Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday is in some doubt because of the heavy snow.
The Seagulls are due to hold a pitch inspection at the Withdean tomorrow morning.
The U’s are due to leave for East Sussex tomorrow lunchtime and the Seagulls are keen to make an initial verdict on their pitch before that time.
There has been heavy snowfall in the Brighton area and nearby Gatwick Airport has been closed.
Temperatures in the Brighton area are set to climb on Saturday.
But in addition to the condition of the playing surface, the safety of spectators at the Withdean will also be taken into consideration.
