Tom Williams wants to make his move to Colchester United permanent.
The experienced defender this week extended his loan spell at the U’s from Bristol City for a third and final month.
His six-month contract at the Robins expires next month, leaving him without a club.
And Williams, 30, is keen to make a permanent switch to the Weston Homes Community Stadium.
He told the Gazette: “I’d definitely be interested in signing for the club in January, without a doubt.
“I’d like to think that I could still play in the Championship but it’s also good to play where you’re wanted.
“To play your best football you also have to be happy and there are several things to consider.
“I’ve enjoyed my time at Colchester and when the gaffer asked me if I’d like to extend my loan, it was a simple decision for me."
