Ian Henderson believes the Weston Homes Community Stadium has become a fortress for Colchester United.
But the energetic midfielder has admitted the U's now need to produce away form to match their excellent home record.
Colchester registered their fourth successive home win with a 2-0 triumph over Walsall.
Goals from David Perkins and David Mooney secured the U's their eighth victory at the Community Stadium and only leaders Brighton and Hove Albion have lost fewer games on home soil in League One this season.
Henderson, 26, played his part in helping Colchester see off the Saddlers.
And now he wants to help the U's improve their stuttering form on their travels, beginning with their trip to Peterborough United, tomorrow night.
Henderson told the Gazette: “I don't want to speak too soon but it seems like this stadium is becoming a fortress for us.
“At home, it seems like we have our game in place and away from home, we need to become more consistent.
“But we're a work in progress as the manager has said and it's not like we go out there to play badly.”
