Colchester United's reserves moved up to third in the Pontin's Holiday Combination League thanks to a 0-0 draw with Leyton Orient's reserves at Layer Road.
The U's were on top throughout the game, but failed to make their chances count against their east London visitors.
The match, though, did see the full return of Johnnie Jackson.
The impressive midfielder, who signed for the club from Premiership outfit Tottenham Hotspur during the summer, has been on the bench recently as he recovered from a groin strain.
