Sarah Claxton is confident that changes to her running style will put her in the Olympic medals mix next year.
Colchester’s sprint hurdles star has altered the way she trains and runs in recent weeks and says she is already seeing the benefits.
And the 32-year-old – who was eighth in the 100 metre hurdles in Beijing – feels it means she can go even better when the Olympics come around next summer than her performance in the Bird’s Nest back in August 2008.
Claxton has been troubled by injuries in the last few years, particularly a torn Achilles that blighted her chances of running really fast times in 2011.
But she is fully recovered now and acknowledges the catalyst for her upturn in form is her decision to switch coaches.
Claxton said: “The Achilles is fine now and I’m back to running in spikes and doing sprinting work.
“There’s been no pain or reaction at all to it and that’s really positive."
