Former Manchester United and England striker Teddy Sheringham will return to Colchester United next month for Kem Izzet’s testimonial.
Sheringham, who ended his glittering career with the U’s in 2008, is the latest name to confirm his appearance on Izzet’s special day, on May 12.
Izzet said: “Teddy’s definitely coming and that will hopefully put a lot more people on the gate.
“He’s the biggest name to confirm and he’s still one of the biggest names in English football.
“He’s achieved a lot in the game and it’s great that he’s coming along.
“It’s been hard work getting everything together for the match but hopefully it’ll come together in the long run.
“There are a lot of different age groups represented so hopefully, they’ll be something for everyone.”
Kem Izzet’s testimonial takes place at the Weston Homes Community Stadium on Saturday, May 12.
Tickets are priced at £10 for adults and £5 for juniors (up to 16) and over-65s, while admission for under-eights is £2.
