John Ward is hoping to ensure his Colchester United side round off their home campaign on a winning note against Tranmere Rovers tomorrow.
The U’s have lost just four league games at the Weston Homes Community Stadium this season.
Indeed, their record there over the last three seasons is impressive - they have tasted defeated only 11 times there in League One in that time.
The U’s have taken points in 57 of the 68 games they have played at the Community Stadium, in that time.
“Every manager that comes here say before the match that this is a difficult place to come,” said Ward.
“The players have responded to playing here and we’ve become established here.
“It’s where we're comfortable and we also know that we can tackle the best here.
“We’ll have lows but we also have highs, like pushing the likes of Sheffield Wednesday, Sheffield United and Huddersfield.
“It’s good and perhaps that cuts out the team not being very good as an excuse for not coming.”
