West Mersea sailor Hannah Stodel was still top of the leaderboard in the Sonar class heading into the final day of competition on Friday at the Semaine Olympique Francais regatta in Hyeres.
Together with helm John Robertson and Stephen Thomas, Stodel had extended the advantage at the top of the overall standings to three points after a run of top-five finishes.
The trio are using the latest ISAF Sailing World Cup series event to hone their preparations for the Paralympic Games later this year.
Meanwhile, there was also good news for another West Mersea sailor as Martin Evans moved up the standings in the silver fleet of the Laser class.
A third place in his ninth race placed him sixth in the silver fleet and 42nd overall among some of the world's top Laser sailors.
See the paper on Monday for a full round up of the final action from Hyeres.
