Colchester United fans have been given the unique chance to tread the turf alongside some of their heroes at Kem Izzet’s Testimonial.
Football supporters can bid for the opportunity to play alongside the likes of Mark Kinsella, Roy McDonough, Greg Halford and Teddy Sheringham on Izzet’s big day, which takes place at the Weston Homes Community Stadium on Saturday, May 12.
Eight lucky U’s supporters can rub shoulders with some of the club’s greatest-ever players, with two slots available in each team in action on the day.
A “Boys of 92” side will take on the “Men of 98” in the opening match, while Phil Parkinson will preside over a celebrity XI against John Ward’s current Colchester team.
Those successful in the auction will get the chance to pull on the Colchester shirt and play in one of the games, swap stories with their heroes in the dressing room and receive a signed shirt from the day.
Izzet said: “It’s a great chance for people to play alongside some of their favourite Colchester United players from U’s teams spanning the last two decades.”
