Revitalised Michael Rose has admitted he does not want the season to end after flourishing in a new midfield role.
Rose has shone in an advanced left-sided position, in Colchester United’s last two matches.
The 29-year-old has played the majority of his career as a left-back.
But after a testing start to his U’s career, Rose says he is relishing the chance to finish the season in a new position.
Rose said: “I’m enjoying playing there and enjoying playing games.
“It’s just a shame for me that there’s now only one more game left this season.
“I played in a central midfield role when I was 19 or 20 at Hereford United.
“But it’s not a position I’ve played in much, during my career.
“I’ve always liked getting forward though and it’s a good opportunity for me to get back into the swing of things.”
