Colchester United have boosted their attacking options with the signing of Clinton Morrison.
The 33-year-old has signed a two-year deal with the U's and will join up with the rest of the squad at their training base in Holland.
Morrison, who was released by Sheffield Wednesday at the end of last season, has scored more than 150 senior career goals for a host of clubs.
Colchester manager John Ward had been looking for an experienced striker following the departure of Steven Gillespie and Kayode Odejayi.
And the arrival of the Republic of Ireland international has given Ward additional options in attack, ahead of the big kick-off on August 18.
Morrison, who spent time on loan at Colchester's League One rivals MK Dons and Brentford last season, could make his first U's appearance in their pre-season friendly against West Ham United on Saturday.
