Colchester United manager John Ward has confirmed that Clinton Morrison’s arrival will be the last signing he makes this summer.
Striker Morrison, 33, joined Colchester on Monday, after leaving Sheffield Wednesday.
Colchester have also brought in Marcus Bean and Freddie Sears over recent weeks, along with re-signing defender Magnus Okuonghae.
Ward added: “It finishes the movement for us, in terms of signings.
“We’re very pleased with it and we’ve managed the budget very well.
“We’re taking on less senior pros this year but we’re delighted with the signings that we’ve made.
“There’s a steady stream of players wanting to play for Colchester United and it’s pretty pleasing that they’re players who want to be around this football club.”
