SASKIA Clark is locked in a three-way battle for Olympic Gold.
The Mersea Island sailor, along with helm Hannah Mills, slipped from the top of the leaderboard following yesterday’s racing in Weymouth.
The Team GB pair had held a slender one point lead over New Zealand’s Jo Aleh and Olivia Powrie coming out of Monday’s rest day.
But two first places in race seven and eight of the regatta on Tuesday saw the Kiwis open up a four-point lead.
Clark and Mills managed a fifth in race seven then clawed their way back up the field in the last race of the day to finish in second place behind Aleh and Powrie.
But the Netherlands pairing of Lisa Westerhof and Lobke Berkhout ended the day with fourth and third place finshes to be three points behind Clark and Mills.
The 470 class has two races today before the final medal race on Friday and Clark said: “All we want to do is go into the medal race in a good position.
“I don't think we are going to have a one-on-one in the final. “There are three of us going for it.
“It's likely to be a scrap with the Dutch and the Kiwis.”
New Zealand lead the competition on 21 points, with Great Britain second on 25, the Dutch have 28 while the French sit in fourth place on 47.
